This is an example of a carpet designer and her use of langauge to tell her audience who she is and what her work is about. Malene, in three paragraphs tells us about her, her interests and aesthetics and her acts of making wholesome choices for the making of her product.

Her artist statement helps her to formalise who she is and what she is about. She then uses the statement to suit in marketing and self-promotion.

An artist statement is what, how, and why you do what you do, from your point of view.
